Team
Working at xoio means being part of a friendly, unpretentious team that values collaboration more than individual creative fulfillment. We understand that true beauty comes from inside and therefor a harmoneous team will reflect on our work.

Thomas studied Graphics Design at the Ruhracademy, Schwerte from 1992 until 1997. After receiving his Diploma he worked as a Designer at Boros GmbH until 2000. After that he freelanced for top agencies as MetaDesign, Realgestalt, Dan Pearlman and many others as Senior Art Director. Clients include Audi, BMW, Daimler, Escada, FSB, Lufthansa, MINI, O2, Smart, Vorwerk and other Topbrands.
Thomas is a true gentleman at heart – his considerate and soothing aura is well appreciated and cuts down stress levels at hard projects. Our friendship with Thomas dates back way even before xoio – in fact he influenced the fundamental CI of xoio during early days. Thomas has a strong interest in spiritual matters and you will rarely meet somebody who is as clearminded as him.
Thomas is commissioned to our corporate and brand clients. Additionally he constantly finetunes our public appearance.
All of our artists are generalists – we believe that each artist should be able to develop his vision of a piece until its completion – lasting in a more sustainable creative career.

Daniel studied Media Technology with focus on Media Design, which put him into first contact with 3D media. He received his Bachelor in 2012. A strong interest in all niches of 3d-Design led to various personal projects and professional engagements in architecture and VFX. He’s the only artist on our team that has got his own IMDB-Page, which fills our hearts with pride.
Due to his various past assignments in all fields of CGI, Daniel is a swiss army knife and can be used in numerous fields. He’s got a strong intrinsic creative drive and always pursues his own creative endeavours.
He is a pro and we love to have this „gun-to-hire“ on the team whenever possible.

Coming from the alpine South Peter studied architecture in Stuttgart. After a few working trips to the US he graduated in 1999 at the HFT Stuttgart. After a year in competitions, Peter moved to London to do his MArch. He moved to Berlin in 2002 and freelanced several years in Brand Architecture. Peter founded xoio in 2006.
Peter is the head mechanic of the xoio engine – watching out that all parts of the system are running smoothly and the ship is roughly moving in the right direction. He’s got an unsatisfyable curiosity to try out new things in 3d, but also never gets tired to remind everybody of the fundamental principles of traditional art.
In his free time you might finding him setting up camp with his family in the Uckermarck wildlands or running across the Brandenburg woods.

Joanna was love at first sight – we knew she would be the perfect match: talented, enthusiastic, almost annoyingly positive, yet supercritical about her own work (take it easy, J.), reliable and a great teamplayer. Did I mention that she fills every office with positive…ness?
So how do you continue with dry facts after this: Joanna has degrees in interior design and visual communications. She was working as a 3D Artist in Wroclaw before we could drag her to Berlin to join xoio.

Steve studied interior design at the FH Coburg. We first met him during his internship at xoio in 2012. He graduated and received his Bachelor in 2013, to replenish our ranks right after his degree.
Steve is the sunny side of xoio – just being around him makes you feel better. His positive attitude makes him a valuable addition for every team. His optimism and constant curiosity transpires into his splendid CG work.
Additionally we could always count on Steve to be part of any silly CG-experiment, piloting a drone or dressing up as the king of the woods. Great having him onboard!

Wanja joined us in 2019. He walked into our door, walked out and came back 5 minutes later to stay.
Born in Almaty, Kazachstan he is a great addition to our crosscultural creative mix and he delivers with a reliable sense for style. Wanja holds an architectural degree from the TU, Berlin. Additionally to his architectural finesse he is skilled in graphics, photography and traditional media, as we can witness on a daily base.
Most important of all Wanja is a great guy and a reliable teamplayer to work with. Great to have this creative multitool with us – we are happy to put him to good use!

Philipp studied communication design at the HTW Berlin. During that time he interned at xoio in 2013. After receiving his Bachelor in 2014 he decided to come back home to xoio in 2014.
Philipp is our representative of a young Berlin creative – ambitious, hardworking and flexible in multiple disciplines – yet knowing how to take it easy and have a good time. He likes to photograph and together with Katrin forms our interior stylistic team.
tscherner@xoio.deThe team at xoio compromises of creatives from various fields. Our people are dutyfull and will get the job done, but we value a healthy work-life balance. Most of our staff started as interns and have come back to xoio to work full time since – we are proud of that.

Art Maknev is a freelance 3d artist with over 10 years of experience in the Arch-viz industry. Originally from Ukraine, Art has worked for a number of well known firms in New York City, such as SOM, BBG-BBGM(HOK), The 7th Art and Visualhouse. He moved to Berlin in 2014.
Art’s life abroad left him with a constant urge to be on the move and finetune his situation. Whenever he shows up at xoio occassionally he yet again proves to be a gifted and reliable senior artist.

The britsman he is, William is always good for a laugh (in fact it must be quite amused to be the only person in the office that really knows the language we communicate with).
William holds a degree in arts. He has been doing visual merchandising and interior design for Ikea for over 10 years. He extended his knowhow in cgi before joining us. He is super dedicated and we are sure there is a lot to come from his side.

Julia studied Virtual Design in Kaiserslautern. After her internship at xoio she graduated and received her Bachelor in 2015. She then went off the radar for a while, but we finally tracked her down and convinced her to come back to Berlin. We affectionally call her Tiger-Julia, due to her short history in CG wildlife :).
Julia is a friendly, openminded team player – the only person she is unforgiving to is herself. Always critical about her own work, she continues to pursue the perfect illustration.

Jule has been working several years for TV and Film productions in Leipzig. Due to her interest in project management and communications she continued her studies in “Medienfachwirt” (Bachelor of media engineering CCI), graduating in 2011. After her move to Berlin she joined xoio in 2012.
Jule is the heart of our team, caring for everybodies wellbeing. Besides project management her tasklist inside xoio is extensive – she is always on duty and xoio wouldn’t be the same without her dedication.

Miguel studied at the Universidade Lusiada de Lisboa and received his Master Degree in Architecture in 2009. Passing by Paris, where he worked as an architect for 3 years he found his way to Berlin in 2014. He joined xoio the same year.
„Miguel certainly has this famous latin stamina“ (Quote from GTA3) – indeed he’s got a second life in innumerous, obscure sports which he lefthandedly masters to perfection. He is a passionate traveller with a predilection for Asia. Finally his great sense of humour always manages to make your day – guaranteed.

Bettina received her architectural degree in Architecture 1999 in Stuttgart. She relocated to Columbus, Ohio for her Master of Architecture. In 2000 she moved to London to work at Iain Simpson Architects. Together with Peter Stulz she then moved back to Germany, setting camp at Berlin. For a few years she worked in architecture, mainly at GKK – Architects until she joined xoio. Her strong personality make her the gravitational centerpoint of xoio managing the bulk of internal and external matters. Bettina has two kids and family.
Bettina is a partner and the mouth and ear of xoio. She is the one that says „no“, but in the most buddyish manner you can get it. Being a fully certified MArch she holds the holy grail of architectural knowhow in our office constantly checking if window details are done correctly.

Nunzio has already become an indispensible part of our crew. There is always that hint of a smile around the corners of his mouth – in fact we can‘t remember having him ever caught in a bad mood.
Napolese by nature, Nunzio has an impressive architectural education. Yet he decided to go for architectural imagery and met Lasse in venice and that‘s how he found his way to Berlin. Nunzio is a skilled and interested 3d artist that already became an integral component of the xoio-cosmos.
It‘s great to have signore Cava in our team.
